Barry Small originally graduated as an industrial designer at Ravensbourne College of Art and Design, then progressed to post graduate teaching practice at the University of London. This was followed by very broad working experience in graphic, interior, exhibition, product and architectural design.

As an illustrator he brings this wealth of experience to handling anything from natural history and topographic subjects as well as private commissions. His clients include design and publishing houses, district councils, independent retailers, trusts, conservation groups and societies. He has a detailed style with a good knowledge in a variety of subject areas.
