Maureen Hallahan was originally a student of typography and letterform and has worked for many years as an illustrator and calligrapher. She has worked for many publishers including Ladybird Books, Collins, Medici Cards and Paperlink. The tradition of miniature illumination and calligraphy has always been of fascination to her but recently she has also been using software programmes to work digitally. Most of her time is now devoted to watercolour natural history illustrations and miniatures although she also teaches illustration, typography and design in Further and Higher Education.
