Joanna Williams is an experienced and accomplished artist who has been working as a full time freelance illustrator for numerous publishers in the UK, USA and global markets, among them being Hamlyn, Heinemann, Macmillan and many more. She was commissioned by Longmans to illustrate a series of readers for Nigerian schools and spent time in both Nigeria and Ghana researching this subject. She has taught in higher education but now balances ongoing illustrative work with teaching all ages from home. She regularly exhibits her work and has won the 'Mackenzie and Mackenzie' award at the St. Barbe Open Exhibition in Lymington in 2009.She has a particular interest in portraiture and has done a number of commissioned heads and full figure paintings of both children and adults. |
