John Patience Born 1949 Lancashire England John began his career working as a book designer for a number of publishers in London, but his real interest has always been children's literature. At the age of 30 his dream came to fruition when the first book to be written and illustrated by him was published. Since then he has written and/or illustrated over 100 original stories, pop-up books and re-telling of classic fairy tales for publishers in the UK, USA and Australia. John is perhaps best known for the Fern Hollow series which continues to have a strong following. John is still working for various publishers around the world.
