Shirley Tourret trained at Harrow Art School subsequently becoming a freelance illustrator. She illustrated traditional fairy tales , children's books, adult books and educational books. She worked for numerous publishers including Heron Books, Ladybird Books, Purnell, MacDonald, Franklin, Oliver & Boyd, Evans, Watts, Heinemann, Blackie and Macmillan. Shirley Tourret died in 2007.
